After much anticipation and preparation, the famous Barrett Jackson Auction will begin tomorrow Saturday January 14th 2012. Established in 1971 the Barrett-Jackson Auction provides enticement and excitement for even the most serious classic collector.
The original auction was held by Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett. Jackson and Barrett met when Jackson was introduced to Barrett’s 1933 Cadillac V-16 Town Car. In 1967, Barrett and Jackson put on a car show called “Fiesta del Auto Elegance”, a fund-raiser for local charities. In 1971, the two presented another classic car auction and Tom Barrett’s Mercedes 770 Phaeton sold for $153,000 at this event. Although it is classified as an automobile auction, many other items including trucks, motorcycles, airplanes, engines and many other classic pieces certainly make their appearances. The auction is often referred to as “Shatterday” for all the record breaking sales that occur during that day.
Sameday has helped in the preparation for this event, such as restoring this 1934 Super Eight Packard and this 1933 Chrysler Imperia to their original showroom quality. By using our state-of-the-art leather and paint refinishing systems, our technicians are able to restore the classics back to their original condition.
Sameday’s goal in serving our customers is to provide them with the highest quality repairs with the ease and flexibility of their schedule. In a matter of hours our technicians can restore your vehicle to its original pre-damaged condition and get you back on the road.
We encourage our customers to send us feedback on our services and let us know how their overall experience was. Below is a letter we received from one of our customers in Seattle, WA.
Dear Friends,
I wanted to pass along my thank you for a great job that Pete Keen completed today on my 2012 Honda Crosstour. I had a paint scrape along about half of the right rear wheel well from getting to close to a concrete pillar in our parking garage and thought for sure I would have to end up having the entire area re-painted at a body shop. But I used SameDay before for a rock ding and knew you folks could do amazing things, but wasn’t sure with the depth of some of these scrapes if you could repair it this time around.
Pete came out early today and in less than 1 1/2 hours had the entire damaged area back to the way it looked driving out of the showroom! What he did, his attention to detail and the great professionalism he demonstrated for the whole repair was truly outstanding. I truly wanted it to look as good as it does now, but had steadied myself to be ready for some residual damage from the scrape. Unless Ishowed you exactly where the scrapes were before and you were looking with the absolute closest inspection possible, I would defy anyone to easily see that there had been any damage to the area.
Pete did an amazing job! Clearly he takes great pride in the work he does and more than once in watching him work you realized he wasn’t just a technician doing his job but a true “artist” at work at what he does and the level of quality he demands of himself before he calls any job ready for the customer. A truly fantastic job and a great customer rep in Pete Keen. I have no doubt I will be coming back to Sameday in the future for any paint issues but also for your other services also. Thank you!
The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is a thing of beauty and grace. The Silver Cloud model was introduced in 1955 and was so popular, it was carried over to 1966!
In 1955 growing competition in the automotive industry forced Rolls Royce to reconsider their traditional design policy, and in 1962, the final Silver Cloud III model was born. The nose was modified, the radiator lowered and perhaps the most notable change, double headlights were added. Despite these changes the Silver Cloud III looked every bit as classic as its predecessors. As with every Rolls-Royceclassic, the hood of the car was embellished with the Spirit of Ecstasy symbolizing beauty and speed.
