Vintage Rolls-Royce & Pierce Arrow Restored for America’s Car Museum Hard Hat & High Heels Gala

September 23rd, 2011 — 4:50pm

This weekend, LeMay- America’s Car Museum is hosting its exclusive “Hard Hat & High Heels” Gala event; a preview get-together at the future museum site.

In order to prepare for the event, the LeMay Museum called upon expert Sameday technician Don Livingston, to complete touch-up restoration to two classic, luxury vehicles: a 1926 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Limousine and a 1916 Pierce Arrow Brougham 38-4 Series.

The Rolls Royce was American-built in Springfield, Massachusetts. There were only 138 Silver Ghosts built with the Tilbury style body by Willoughby & Co.

The 1916 Pierce Arrow Brougham was regarded as the American equivalent of Rolls-Royce, making this the finest American-built car available in 1916. This vintage Pierce Arrow was ahead of its time with luxury features which included an electric clock, intercom from the rear seat, and even a flower vase. This car also has its original chassis, engine, and body.

Sameday’s restoration services benefit classic car owners and collectors in several ways. Our technicians are experts at matching custom vintage colors & finishes which are no longer available or have not been computerized for matching purposes by major paint companies. Our leather systems enable us to duplicate the look and feel of the many vintage and contemporary classic vehicle interior leathers. Also, Sameday’s paintless dent repair systems allow many dents to be removed without painting- preserving the original, classic vehicle finish.

Join the exclusive LeMay – America’s Car Museum “Preview Party” in celebration of Tacoma’s newest cultural landmark for an evening that will include a cocktail reception, dinner, a live auction, entertainment, as well as a chance to see some of the collector vehicles and exhibits before anyone else.
